                           Purchase of Own Securities


On 12 August 2003 Colefax Group Plc bought for cancellation a total of 182,000
ordinary shares of 10 pence each (representing 0.91 per cent of the issued
ordinary share capital of the Company) at a price of 67 pence per share.


Following the cancellation of these shares there will be 19,908,100 shares in
issue.
