Man that run was over quickly. Wonder who did the secret pumping to get the price flying so PP investors could sell out to them before participating. Very deflating to see this happen in Gunnison.

Private Placement announced. Seems to always happen right after a large move in a penny stock. Good thing about Gunnison is they have irons in the fire.

The buyers are back this morning. Amazing that it has been in mothballs for years and all of a sudden , the volcano erupts.

That would be great news if that were to happen. I believe it was more just a rush to buy into the critical mineral hype sweeping the markets. That large holder in England must be happy.

My guess for the huge runup is that someone has decided the gravel and limestone can indeed be sold. I don't think it is all just about Johnson Camp.

A high copper price means little when there’s no production. But this time, JCM is set to start producing copper in Q3.

We have had high copper before. Tariffs are in and out under this administration. I am hoping takeover by end of 2025.

Shawn Westcott from Gunnison responded to my email and said "The entire capex for JCM is covered by Nuton and Gunnison will not have to pay any of it. They also cover the holding costs and a percentage of the corporate costs that relate to JCM."
He did not specifically specify that they will put in 58.9 million, which is what I wanted to know, but I assume it must be in the ballpark.

I owned this for a couple years around 17-18 as the EPA was permitting ISR for JCM. I sold for a small loss back then but I last saw they began mining with ISR. Its been a while since I’ve checked up on the company.

They are now going to begin open pit ops H1 of 2025. What the hell happened??

Quite a few things have changed in 9 years
Large miners had no clue what to do with ISR, as they are traditional open pit and underground miners, which would have gave them pause to buy the company then. The open pit is standard mining which the bigger companies understand well.

The open pit pivot was enabled by Gunnison securing the last holdout surface rights late last year. The pit economics at $4.10 copper are pretty decent. The opportunities they are going to work on from ore sorting to overburden gravel and limestone monetization could really enhance the NPV and lower the all in $1.94 cost per pound to produce.

Permitting is another big advantage with Gunnison, where they only need amendments to existing permits, vs 5-10 years with other developers in Arizona.

I have no idea if a large miner would buy Gunnison, my gut feeling is no, because they could have done that for the past ten years and didn't.

Investor relations at Gunnison did not bother to respond to my email, not a good feeling. Maybe they are secure in their project and funding and they are not so worried about investor relations much anymore. My take is that although Stage 2 Construction & Operations are 100% funded by Nuton, they are not putting in the entire 58.9 million, and it would be nice to know the exact amount. In any case, at this low share price, GCU is worth it just for Johnson Camp.

Do you see a large mining concern making a play for Gunnison?

I sent an email to investor relations at Gunnison. I asked them this:
The corporate presentation dated May 21, 2024 says the initial capital for Johnson Camp is 58.9 million.
The current corporate presentation says Stage 2 Construction & Operations are 100% funded by Nuton.
Does this mean that the entire 58.9 million is covered by Nuton, or will Gunnison Copper have to come up with some of this money?
I will post the reply when I get it.

FYI I made 2 mistakes in my summary, as someone pointed out it's actuallly 99.999% pure copper. Also I dated the title as 2024 but we're in 2025 now 😉

Gunnison webinar January 23, 2024.

I'm hitting the main points below, watch the whole thing for many more details. My take is that this will probably pay off in the long run, but you're looking at no real revenue for several more years. As a current shareholder I'm willing to keep holding (since I'm underwater anyway) but not willing to add, particularly with cash raise dilution coming soon.

I feel like they have a strong team, good concept, etc. and can be successful, but the perpetual waiting is pretty tough unless you have the patience of Job. They are emphasizing working to raise the share price in the near term but not sure this is achievable. We'll see.

Highlights:
. Johnson Camp mining and ore stockpiling already underway. JC will produce 99.99% pure copper cathode by mid-2025
. JC will produce 12k tons of finished copper/year, could be 100 mil revenue/yr. Will be publishing a Life of Mine Plan first half of this year. All free cash goes to Nuton until they are paid back. Sounds like this will take several years to achieve.
. US Gov gave 13.9 million dollar tax credit grant related to JC mine, fully transferable and can be monetized through sale to a third party. Can be used to more quickly achieve payback on Nuton's investment or for other purposes

. 10 other known deposits within 8km. Gunnison, JC and Strong and Harris combined have over 1 billion tons of copper resource
. Strong and Harris satellite deposit expected to add significant value to the overall project. Single ownership of entire Cochise mining district.
. Path to permit amendments to open pit Gunnison is streamlined. Rail link will reduce input costs, facilitate the sale of gravel and limestone overburden. Mining will be significantly cheaper than mining nearby hard rock deposits.
. Planning to add optical ore sorting tech which results in a huge cost savings. In the testing phase.
. Timeline for Gunnison has first production end of 2030
. Gunnison open pit project will require relocation of part of Interstate 10. Twyerwold spoke optimistically about this as not being an obstacle.
. In-situ discussed as a "backup" plan but my take is it's permanently dead.

. Twyerwold; Our job is to remedy the disconnect between project value and company/share value over the next 6-12 months
. Need to raise 5-6 million over the next few months to fund future activity
. Gravel and limestone opportunity can add millions in value
. Mining plan and first production can be share price catylists this year
. PFS work and permit amendments will be done 2nd half 2025. May look for a J/V partner for Gunnison after that.

Amazing that the company has very good news a week back and today there is close to 450,000 shares on the offer. These penny stocks are hard to make money in unless you get lucky.

See Gunnison (or good old Excelsior) eligible for almost $ 14 mio from DOE on tax benefits ( cash or reduction tax liability)! Endorsement from US government is a great act of confidence in the future of the project;

I think it's a smart move to give up ISR. They could be fiddling around with it for another decade and get nowhere. The copper is there, go get it. The JC will keep them going while they work through the process. Obviously the market likes this news. I'd say this stock is worth the risk at this point.

IMO the name change is a great idea as I read a book about 30 years ago by a man who made a killing in the market. He wrote there could be 2 companies selling the same type of product with the same earnings and the one with the best sounding name to the market will do much better then the other one. I think putting the word "Copper" in could be a big deal in SP as we are getting closer everyday to a real start in copper mining.

Excelsior Mining Receives Final Permit Required to Restart the Johnson Camp Mine
