So as I said previously, the failure of amendment 3 in FL and the coming crackdown on intoxicating hemp sold in gas stations will become more prevalent. You already have congress looking at it , as a loophole in the Farm Bill and the state legislature will surely take up this issue soon. That is why I see more Floridians getting Medical Marijuana Cards. 2k over the last week.

HoldHigh HoldHigh 3 days ago
For the purposes of 7 CFR part 990, and as defined in the 2018 Farm Bill, the term β€œhemp” means the plant species

Cannabis sativa

L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. Delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is the primary intoxicating component of cannabis. Cannabis with a THC level exceeding 0.3 percent is considered marijuana, which remains classified as a Schedule I controlled substance regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) under the CSA.

Do I need to go to a medical marijuana dispensary to buy CBD products?

If the CBD item is a low-THC product derived from hemp with less than 035mg THC per serving or 2mg of total THC per package, you can buy it at any licensed retail or convenience store in Florida. CBD products with higher levels of THC must be sold through a licensed marijuana dispensary,

So basically if they aren't selling hemp derived products less than 035mg it is illegal. Look for the government to clamp down on these HEMP products in the near future. I think there is a difference that you may or may not be aware of. A THC product from Hemp is not the same as a THC product from Cannabis. I'm not sure what you're calling weed, but it's not the same product as being sold in MMTC's.

Hemp plants and marijuana plants are both the same species.

Legally, hemp is defined as a cannabis plant that contains 0.3 percent or less THC, while marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3 percent THC.

CBD can be derived from both hemp and marijuana plants.

Trulieve has proposed building a fourth medical marijuana dispensary in Escambia County.

The company is seeking to redevelop a space off Pine Forest Road that used to hold Wayne’s Family Diner. The approximately 3,200-square-foot, family-owned venue at 100 Loblolly Lane closed down in 2022.

IMO it wouldn’t and this is why. Texas’s Compassionate Use Program (CUP) allows certain physicians to prescribe low tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) cannabis for medical purposes.

Low-THC comes from the plant Cannabis Sativa L. All parts of the plant and any resulting compounds, salts, resins, oils and derivatives that contain no more than 0.5 % by weight of THC are considered Low-THC. Medical use of these substances is limited to swallowing, not smoking, the prescribed dose of low-THC.

Pam Bondi, the former attorney general of Florida, was chosen Thursday to be the nation’s top law enforcement official by Trump just hours after Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration in the face of Senate opposition.
Bondi is a partner at Ballard Partners, the lobbying firm that had been run by Trump's incoming chief of staff Susie Wiles and whose founder, Brian Ballard, is a top Trump fundraiser. She is co-chair of the law and justice division at the pro-Trump America First Policy Institute, which has been likened to a Trump administration in waiting.

I think this is coming in all states with medical MJ. It helps the industry and shuts down unregulated hemp. Ohio Lawmakers Take Testimony On Bill To Ban Intoxicating Hemp Products. While Desantis in FL cozied up to Hemp I believe the legislature will move forward on something to regulate it like they do medical MJ. They already passed one bill and now Desantis doesn't need the help of the Hemp industry.

Gaetz is out, my opinion has been he was never really going to be in the position, as it was cover to let him resign from the House before the severe reprimands which could have ruined his chances of a future career. Trump also could now argue he tried to put a pot friendly guy in the office and it is other peoples fault that he cannot now fulfill his promise of cannibas reform. However............to be optomistic, perhaps the next candidate will have a clean record and be reform friendly. If you have followed Trulieve for very long, you remember there were some pretty close connections with Gaetz in the early days, something that I was never very comfortable with.

As I said before, Hemp will become more regulated. While Desantis teamed up with the hemp industry to defeat the FL amendment, it appears they aren't safe from regulation. Why have a MJ market being regulated with testing etc and not have the hemp market regulated. Good for TCNNF if it happens.

Here's what they said when Kennedy was running for president.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making a bid for the White Houseβ€”now as an independent candidate after initially running for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination. And while his drug policy record is thin, he has come out in support of bold marijuana and psychedelics reforms since entering the race.

The son of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy has pledged to legalize cannabis and psychedelics if elected

So we have Trump(who said we need to move it to schedule 3), Gaetz (if he gets confirmed, although trump has ways around the process) and Kennedy (same) both are in line with full legalization not just schedule 3. So I'm thinking maybe they will do something in short order. At least if you can believe what they say, there shouldn't be many impediments to something favorable happening. Remember it's trumps party not the senate or houses party. So if trump and the republicans don't follow through, it wouldn't look good.

Nice. Was just getting ready to post that too. His chief of staff supported tcnnf via what she use to do. I think it's pretty clear, but I also thought yes on 3 was going to pass.

President-elect Donald Trump nominated
another cannabis legalization supporter to his cabinet. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) of Florida is being tapped to serve as U.S. attorney general.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that Gaetz "has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice."

Gaetz replied on X, "It will be an honor to serve as President Trump's Attorney General!"

Yeah, imo it's a good area too. Good news is my holdings from where I started accumulating tcnnf start in January which means long term gains when things should be very hot again. Could even be sooner if the lame duck and senate try to get safe through before things end for them, but the party taking over will make it happen too, it's just that one party might want to get the credit more than the other.

The dems have failed us on MJ and especially Schumer. A lot of repubs are against anything to do with MJ, but Trump is running the show so based on his prior talking points, schedule 3 should be a no brainer along with Safe Banking. I think we see it happen in the first quarter of 2025.

I look for an increase in medical marijuana numbers in FL since the legalization amendment failed in FL. With TCNNF being the largest supplier of medical marijuana in the state, it will also help the bottom line. Also the lack of supporting the amendment has freed up money that is now going to the bottom line. So while some see the glass half empty, I see it as half full. Onward and upward. I think we are in a wait and see position, but by March we will have some certainty on where we're headed.
πŸ‘οΈ0
HoldHigh HoldHigh 2 weeks ago
Two months before the election, Trump issued a statement largely aligning himself with the Biden administration and his election opponent, Vice President Harris. In it, he affirmed that he supports legalizing the recreational use of marijuana.

"I believe it is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use," he said in a Truth Social post. "We must also implement smart regulations, while providing access for adults, to safe, tested product."

Trump said he would vote "yes" on Florida's recreational cannabis ballot question (the proposed amendment fell short of its 60% threshold). And he suggested Biden's cannabis policy might remain intact.

"As President, we will continue to focus on research to unlock the medical uses of marijuana to a Schedule 3 drug, and work with Congress to pass common sense laws, including safe banking for state authorized companies," Trump said.

So there it is. Sounds to me like he made a promise to continue. Let's see how that pans out. The Biden admin currently has schedule 3 hearing the first of Dec so dems need to push getting something done before the change in administrations. But at least Trump is on record as continuing the approval of schedule 3 change. People are saying he will do what he said on the campaign trail.
