Vulcan’s Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending 31 December 2023 was released today.

The last quarter of 2023 was pivotal for Vulcan, achieving key milestones towards delivering Phase One of our ZERO CARBON LITHIUM™ Project. Most notably, we opened our Lithium Extraction Optimisation Plant (LEOP), Europe’s first, and the start of tangible action towards securing a domestic and sustainable supply chain for lithium in Europe. Now, we are ramping up our debt and project-level equity financing process while focusing on producing the first tonnes of lithium chloride to specification in Q1. We aim to be ready for lithium hydroxide production from our Central Lithium Electrolysis Optimisation Plant (CLEOP) in Q2.

Lithium Extraction Demonstration Plant and Production team
• Onsite works continue at Vulcan’s Lithium Extraction Demonstration Plant in Landau, where Vulcan
remains on target for mid-year operations to commence. This follows two years of successful pilot plant
testing the lithium extraction on the geothermal brine.
• Brine lines to the existing geothermal operation have been successfully installed.
• VULSORB™, Vulcan’s proprietary sorbent, has been manufactured at the tonne scale by a French toll
manufacturer for Vulcan’s Demo Plant. Vulcan is in discussions with the toll manufacturer to move to
commercial production of VULSORB™, which would represent the first and only lithium extraction sorbent
produced in Europe, for Europe. Current supply chains for lithium extraction sorbent production mostly
relies on either China or Russia.
• Growth continues in the Production team, under Vulcan’s new Vice President of Production Christian
Tragut, who recently joined Vulcan from BASF, where he was Vice President of Operations for BASF in
Germany.
• Once operations commence mid-2023, Christian will focus on training the Vulcan Production team on the
Demo Plant, targeting operational readiness prior to commercial scale production as part of Phase One
start of production target for year-end 2025.

Vulcan Energy Resources has received approval from the state authority in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, for the Operating Plan for Vulcan’s lithium extraction Demonstration Plant. Vulcan will use a unique combination of commercially mature methods to extract lithium from its geothermal brine in the Upper Rhine Valley Brine Field, with a net zero carbon footprint, and zero fossil fuels used in the production process. #zerocarbonlithium

Pilot Plant
• Vulcan’s lithium Pilot Plant has produced all the data needed for the DFS and recently confirmed
the highest grade, lowest impurity lithium hydroxide (LiOH) produced to date.
• The Pilot Plant has been successfully operating since April 2021. The pilot plant uses ‘live’
geothermal brine from Vulcan’s commercially operational geothermal plant and operational
wells, which enables the team to demonstrate pre-treatment and a sorption-type lithium
extraction process, while generating crucial data needed for lithium plant engineering design.
• The Company’s in-house lithium extraction team has also successfully developed, tested and
demonstrated Vulcan’s own in-house lithium extraction sorbent, VULSORB™, which continues to
operate successfully.

All these companies are playing around, Burba, sits with a completed Unit and everyone else is still in the lab with 5-gallon buckets..

News has to be around the corner, So, many options. When the first one starts producing and gets dialed in. It should get interesting soon .

Our CEO Francis Wedin is at the Better Futures Australia Forum speaking about the need for the world to build a whole new global battery industry and to do it quickly.

"It's a really exciting time to be alive quite frankly," Dr Wedin told AAP, before speaking at the forum.
He sees Australia, Europe and North America as part of a "low carbon club" that's developing.
"Australia has an important role to play, both in raw materials and increasingly in refining."

There is an old saying in Germany’s Palatinate region, “wanns Licht brennt, is uff!” which roughly translates as “when the light is on, it's open”

I think I over reacted and your reasoning that this is typical protocol after the courts dismissing.

The MM’s know about the court case and they haven’t dragged the PPS down further. Between The CEO recent purchase of shares solidifies a lot about the foundation and its progress.

You could post all or minor hints, opinions are the biggest response.

Let’s see how this week plays out. I really am curious to the results. But hey we had to deal with COVID delays whats another 6 months.

Informing at an early stage, involving citizens and creating acceptance - these points are the A&O for the success of the energy transition and the success of every renewable energy project, because without these ingredients the #Energiewende falters.
And acceptance is increasing, not least because of the need to achieve our independence from foreign energy imports as quickly as possible.

At the Maimarkt in #Mannheim, we had informative discussions with around 5,000 people about the #Energiewende, #Rohstoff dependency and our projects. Bottom line: A win for everyone!

Exploration and development
Strategically located in Europe, Vulcan has the largest lithium resource at the centre of the fastest
growing lithium-ion battery market in the world. The Company is aiming to increase the future supply of
its sustainable lithium chemical product in response to significant customer demand.
During the period, the Company was awarded new exploration licenses for geothermal energy and
lithium in the Upper Rhine Valley Geothermal Brine Field, stepping out from its area already in production
for geothermal energy. The new licenses increased Vulcan’s granted license area by nearly 50% to over
1,000km2
. The team has been focused on reviewing existing data and adding to Vulcan’s project
development pipeline with the view to launch a drilling campaign at the end of 2022 to grow renewable
energy production and lithium production.
In addition, Vulcan subsidiary Vulcan Energy Italy Pty Ltd was granted the Cesano Permit, in Italy. The
Cesano Permit extends over an area of 11.5 km2 and includes an area where a single geothermal well
yielded two “hot brine” samples that contained high average lithium-in-brine historical (1976) grades of
350 and 380 mg/l Li. Vulcan is working with local partners to ascertain the potential of the area in more
detail, and ascertain next steps. By growing and diversifying Vulcan’s project development portfolio - an
initiative internally called “Project Rollo” – the Company aims to develop a global Zero Carbon LithiumÔ
business focused on Europe, and to become a significant producer of renewable energy and sustainable
lithium for electric vehicles. Vulcan is also looking at medium to longer-term opportunities on the French side of the Upper Rhine Valley.

Vulcan Energie Ressourcen GmbH is working to produce climate-neutral #Lithium in the region. For this purpose, it not only wants to obtain #Erneuerbareenergien, but also directly the heat from geothermal energy. I got an idea of this myself in the laboratory in Karlsruhe-Durlach and at the pilot plant at the geothermal power plant in Insheim. Here, lithium is to be extracted to a large extent from the thermal water from the depths of the Upper Rhine Graben. Lithium is necessary, among other things, for the production of the batteries of most electric cars and thus decisive for the ecological #Transformation.

Innovative processes for the own extraction of critical raw materials can make an important contribution to making us more independent of authoritarian states such as #China. This not only makes our economy more resilient, we also remain capable of acting in foreign policy and secure climate-neutral #Wohlstand for the future.

Vulcan executes agreement to supply German energy company, MVV, with renewable, zero carbon heat
First of a number of planned district heating agreements from Geothermal energy to help combat
Germany’s Energy Crisis

Highlights
• Vulcan and MVV Energie AG (MVV) have executed a binding purchase agreement for 240 gigawatt
hours per year of renewable heat.
• The 20-year, long-term agreement commences in 2025 and includes the supply of a minimum of
240,000MWh per year to a maximum of 350,000MWh per year to households in Mannheim,
outside of Frankfurt, Germany.
• MVV, the largest municipal energy supplier in Germany, generates an annual revenue of
€4.1 billion and employs more than 6,500 people. The energy provider is a valuable community
asset, with the City of Mannheim owning 50.10 % of the company1
.
• The heat will be supplied from Vulcan’s planned geothermal wells in the area surrounding the City
of Mannheim. Heat will be transferred via heating grids and a series of underground pipes that
deliver hot water or steam to buildings in the local community.
• The agreement is in line with MVV's strategy to become climate neutral by 2040 and then one of
the first energy companies in Germany to be climate positive.
• Vulcan is developing its Mannheim licence as part of a planned larger Phase 2 of the Zero Carbon
Lithium™ Project.

The shocking events in Ukraine call for a reassessment of current policies in many areas, including and especially energy. Germany's dependence on Russian energy imports must be significantly reduced - and as quickly as possible.

The German government is currently discussing and developing a wide range of measures and Vulcan is advocating for geothermal technology to be embraced as a secure and clean supply of heat.

It is clear that Germany must expand energy production at home, particularly for heating, to be prepared for any shortages that result from a halt in Russian energy supplies.

We believe, consistent with a recent government commissioned study by the Fraunhofer Institute, that deep geothermal renewable energy is a critical part of the new energy mix required, providing a secure and at the same time clean supply of renewable heat. Together with near-surface geothermal energy, this technology is capable of covering around one-fifth of Germany's heat demand by 2030 and thus replacing a significant proportion of Russian natural gas imports.

Also, there was a name I seen a while back of the company building the pilot plant, I need to find that name again and see what we can find. Must be a patent or two with it. Love to see those names as well.

DLE Demo Plant
The DLE Demo Plant is a priority for the lithium team and will be installed and operated at an existing
geothermal plant. A team of around 15 engineers and technicians have now finalised the design work and
the pre-fabrication of the plant started in February 2022, offsite in Germany. Designed to produce
15 to 20 kg/h of concentrated LiCl solution from 5000 to 6000 l/h of geothermal brine, the Demo Plant
will provide important operational learnings prior to Vulcan’s planned start of commercial production in
2024. More than 80%of the equipment has been ordered and commissioning start is on track for mid2022. The DLE Demo Plant will represent an approximately 1:200 scale of the first commercial plant.
Once operational, the plant will employ more than 20 people, with the Company committed to prioritising
local jobs in the Upper Rhine Valley region.
