LONDON--Sky PLC (SKY.LN) said Monday it has invested $4 million
in Elemental Technologies, a U.S.-based software company
specializing in multiscreen video delivery.
Elemental is a video processing firm, providing software that
enables broadcasters and pay TV operators to stream live and
on-demand content to laptops, tablets, smart phones and TVs. This
helps companies like Sky to create an even better and more reliable
experience for customers watching content flexibly, on
internet-connected devices.
Sky's biggest shareholder is 21st Century Fox with a 39.1%
stake. 21st Century Fox was until late June part of the same
company as Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires owner News
Corp.
