Agnico-Eagle to adopt AEM ticker symbol on TSX

Stock Symbols: AEM (NYSE) AGE (TSX) TORONTO, Oct. 31
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited announced
today that it will change its Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) ticker
symbol from AGE to AEM. This new symbol is identical to its ticker
symbol on the New York Stock Exchange. The Company believes that
the change will reduce confusion in the marketplace, and simplify
branding. As of market open on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, the new
ticker symbol will be used on the TSX. About Agnico-Eagle
Agnico-Eagle is a long established Canadian gold producer with
operations located in northwestern Quebec and exploration and
development activities in Canada, Finland, the United States and
Mexico. Agnico-Eagle's LaRonde Mine in Quebec is Canada's largest
