PLACEMENT TO SOPHISTICATED INVESTORS RAISES A$1,500,000



Murchison United NL ("Murchison" or "The Company") (ASX:MUR, AIM:MUU)

The directors of the Company are pleased to announce the completion of a
placement of 25,000,000 ordinary shares at an issue price of A$0.06 to
sophisticated clients of Hartleys Limited to raise gross proceeds of
A$1,500,000. The funds raised will be used by the Company for:

-          the exploration programmes at its uranium projects in Guinea and
Mauritania;

-          the evaluation of alternatives for progressing and realising value
from its Millenium copper project in Queensland, Australia and its joint venture
interest in the Maroochydore copper project in Western Australia; and

-          the ongoing investigation of other resource opportunities in
Australia and internationally.



Further details on the placement are set out in the attached Appendix 3B.



In accordance with the requirements of section 708A(5)(e) of the Corporations
Act 2001 ( "Act") under which this notice is given, the Company confirms that:

1.       the Company issued the 25,000,000 shares without disclosure to
investors under Part 6D.2 of the Act;

2.       as at the date of this notice:

(a)    the Company has complied with the provisions of Chapter 2M of the Act as
they apply to the Company; and

(b)    the Company has complied with section 674 of the Act; and

3.       there is no excluded information (as that expression is defined in
sub-sections 708A(7) and 708A(8) of the Act) in relation to the Company.



Application has also been made to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange ('
AIM') for admission to trading of these ordinary shares and dealings are
expected to commence at 8.00am on Thursday 26 October 2006
