Sorry, but the Hay Days for EVs is just beginning. NIO 61.95 on January 22, 2021, LCID 58.05 on February 18, 2021, RIVN 179.47 on November 10, 2021. Tesla hit $488 December 2024. Although 2021 was the year of exuberance for sure.

If Rawlinson can follow through on his plan (OEM) manufacturer. Then here's for better times ahead. 😀

I don't disagree. PE = 122, extremely high. However, Tesla has $36.56B in cash. Debt = $13.62B
https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/tsla/statistics/

Compared to other EVs, Tesla's the 800 lb. Gorilla in the EV space.

NIO; https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/nio/statistics/
BYD: https://stockanalysis.com/quote/lon/0HKY/statistics/
RIVN: https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/rivn/statistics/

The stock market is about perception not necessarily all the time about Finances.
Apparently the market liked Peter Rawlinson's comments.

I agree that Tesla management will continue to manage, but let's talk about stock price. Tesla stock trades at insanely meme high P/E, mostly based upon Musk's personality and place at the helm. His distraction may cause the price to plummet, in order for it to be in line with actual profits

Tesla has an impressive Management Team. Elon Musk is definitely a very busy individual. CEO of SpaceX, owner of X, Advisor to President Trump. People either rise to the occasion or let someone else run things. I'm sure Tom Zhu is able to keep things running at Tesla.

Now with Lucid and Rawlinson, you have to like the direction LCID is going. Why compete when you can be an OEM supplier. Like IBM. GE, Westinghouse to name a few. Lucid's Battery and drivetrain technology is "State of the Art." Why would automakers invest $Billions in R&D creating their own unique batteries and drivetrains? The KISS principle is alive and well. Go Peter.

Lucid wants to sell a lot more than just cars
Story by Elijah Nicholson-Messmer β€’ 38m β€’ 3 min read

Lucid Motors is ready to carve out a new path for electric vehicle makers in the industry. CEO Peter Rawlinson envisions a future where only 20% of the company’s business comes from selling cars while the other 80% is focused on licensing its electric vehicle technology to automakers looking to improve and release their EV offerings quickly.
At the BloombergNEF Summit in San Francisco, Rawlinson compared Lucid’s ambitions to Intel’s role in the computing industry. β€œJust as there’s an Intel inside your laptop, there’s a Lucid inside a Honda or a Toyota,” he said.

Cars as a showroom for Lucid tech
Lucid’s luxury EVs aren’t just meant to be sold, they’re meant to showcase what’s possible with the company’s powertrains. β€œPeople think, 'Oh, why didn't you just be a supplier, Peter?' Because we need the cars as a shop window for our product,” Rawlinson said.

The company aims to scale production from about 9,000 cars in 2024 to 1 million per year by the early 2030s. But even at that level, the goal isn’t to flood the market with Lucid-branded vehiclesβ€”it’s to demonstrate how efficient and powerful Lucid’s technology can be.

Aston Martin is just the beginning
Lucid’s transition into a technology supplier is already underway. The company signed a $450 million deal with Aston Martin to provide motors, battery tech, and charging components. Under this agreement, Lucid will manufacture parts in Arizona before shipping them to the U.K.

Full of myself? Selfless was the main point of my post. Not sure where you get that.

"even though he was gay"? Did Jesus tell you that? You let me know when I can decide who you or I should love. Why would I care? Why does it matter unless you have some sort of prejudice? What percentage of white/red/yellow/gay is allowed by you? I am not a christian. Am I not governed by the same rule? Does the rule of England still dictate what religion I am allowed to follow? Isn't that why there is an America? Even though... I don't need your approval.

Conquer you said? Can you develop that further? I don't recall saying anything about that.

Trump and Biden and any other "leader" that feels the need to throw down edicts and single person laws that undermine the voice of the people is a dictator and has nothing to with what the democracy that our founding fathers have put into place. They would cringe at pardons and a singular rule of government that lets a single "king" dictate law to the governed. Is he the king or an elected member of the executive branch? We are about to see what a dictator is allowed compared to what we the people allow. Your prejudice and fears are fine in the confines of your home where fox news drowns out reason and freedom. My neighbors and I will not allow it in my community.

And in all of our conversation, how does any of this have to do with Lucid? How do you see dumb ass and musk adding to the stock price of Lucid?

I have zero disdain for our country.

β€œTo announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Theodore Roosevelt

I would suggest you read about the great republican Theodore Roosevelt. He was a good man who did things selflessly and for the love of his country.

He may be. I hope so if he is going to lead my country.

Your libtard comment, although childish and unhelpful, is a great example of why politics in the US is in the state it is today. There seems to be a need to belong to the blue cult or the red cult. I do my best to look out for what is best for my family, and my neighbors. I don't vote blindly based on the party line. I try to vote for the best available person that I believe will get things done. Do you know that I didn't vote for Trump? I was terrified by Biden and a second term. I don't know his mental state at this point but it didn't look good from what I was seeing. My hope is that some day we can get rid of left/right thinking and do what is best for us now as well as generations to come. We were mostly given that by those before us. Are we as selfless as them?

You assume because I am not a fan of our current president that I can be pigeon holed into one of the two boxes fox news has presented for you?

Back to Lucid and doing business in America. Is it a good thing to give up the free market system that has worked for so long and built our country into the powerhouse it is today for isolationism and tariffs? Is the invisible hand dead? Do we no longer need an efficient market that seeks to reward the best of us? Was Ayn Rand wrong? Fascism and communism don't work. I want what I think is best for my country. I vote for the person, not the party, that I think can best achieve that. We have four years to see what he can do. I am hoping for all our sakes that he/they make the right choices and don't get in the way of free markets and hard working people.

Being respectful is a worthy goal. Give it a shot.

Companies will change their tactics and business models, in order to align with the direction of whichever party holds the majority.

The portfolios held by members of Congress have historically outperformed the best money managers on Wall Street. It would be foolish for big business to swim against the current.

The expression, "You can't fight the FED" exists for a reason. You can't fight against regulation, or in the case of this administration, deregulation, so watch where the big money flows and pay attention to where the winds of regulation blow, and invest accordingly.

Money is in the business of making more money, and they don't really care who is in office. That is for the proletariat to worry about.

He's a very sharp business man.
How many failed businesses is he up to? What bankruptcy is he on?

Grew up tough.
Boarding schools, Wharton? Tough?

Had a tough Dad who imparted his values.
But most importantly, a dad who imparted his money.

People aren't squirming, they're cringing. He grew up rich with every advantage. He has never had to pay for his multiple mistakes. He is the definition of spoiled and entitled.

Yes.

The orange one will be visiting Saudis soon and will be trying to get them to invest 1 Trillion in U.S. As of August 2024 they had invested 6.4 Billion in Lucid, so I see room for more money coming.

The Saudis export money instead of oil these days. I believe it has replaced oil as their bargaining chip. It is symbiotic and works as long as we turn the blind eye. I think the relationship also depends on us having the same enemies.

The Saudis own 59.07% of Lucid. They are increasing their presence in Europe and the Middle East. Do they need to bargain with Musk and Trump? They were fortunate enough to get ahead of the crazy. Many other companies and countries have shifted and are shifting their business models to avoid the idiocy that comes with tariffs and whatever other schizophrenic policies the cumquat in charge dreams up. Isolationism and tariffs have never worked before. I don't see a reason it will work today.
