The S&P Global Flash U.S. manufacturing PMI data dropped to 47.0%, down from July's reading of 49. According to consensus estimates, economists were looking for a relatively unchanged reading at 48.9. The gold market was seeing some solid buying momentum ahead of the disappointing data and has since pushed higher in initial to a fresh session high in initial reaction. December gold futures last traded at $1,946.50 an ounce, up more than 1% on the day. $VNQ

Nice movement the past couple days. I put my entire 401k at work into two real estate fund options recently. Way more fun than a "diversified portfolio". VNQ is a good tracker ETF.

Something interesting I found as of late. This fund ( FSDIX) invests a portion of its assets in the reit industry. Needs further review, but looks interesting.

Seems like a good way to play the field. Thought it would pull back, so I could jump in, no luck so far. I do own a single reit, WPC, have done well.

Thinking of Europe maybe, dodfx???
