Symmetricom®, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency technologies, announced today that the Office of Naval Research (ONR) has agreed to sponsor ongoing development of Symmetricom’s Tactical Grade Atomic Clock (TGAC). This announcement follows on the heels of the decision by the ManTech Program, funded by the U.S. Army, GPS Wing and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), to sponsor enhancements to Symmetricom's Chip Scale Atomic Clock (CSAC) technology, see November 15 announcement.

“The backing of the ONR demonstrates a strong vote of confidence in our continued leadership with miniature, low power atomic clock technology such as our Tactical Grade Atomic Clock and upcoming CSAC product,” stated Dan Scharre, executive vice president and general manager at Symmetricom. “Symmetricom is continuing to show progress in its developments and recently demonstrated the successful completion of Phases I through IV of the original DARPA CSAC development contract.”
