The upgraded Audi Q8 is the second Audi model with
first-generation Atala OLED lighting technology.

that its industry leading Atala organic light emitting diode (OLED)
technology is included in the exterior lighting of the upgraded
Audi Q8 luxury SUV. The Q family's flagship model offers Audi
customers an expanded light offering that, for the first time,
includes digital OLEDs on the right and left side of the vehicle's
rear lights.
Crafted with industry insights, flexible
and adaptable Atala OLEDs provide unmatched clarity, brightness,
and uniformity to enhance any automotive illumination
program.
A total of six panels—each less than one millimeter thick—span
the rear of the car. One panel occupies each of the left and right
bodyside lamps, and four panels span the continuous inner tailgate
lamp. Every panel contains six high-contrast segments that are
individually addressable via software control.

The optional digital OLED rear lights with OLED panels also
feature four digital light signatures, which include different

the proximity indication illuminates all OLED segments when another
vehicle is two meters (6.6 feet) away from a stopped Q8, which
increases road safety.
