New City Commercial Corporation Selects JDA Software’s Merchandising and Store Operations Solutions

JDA Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS)
today announced that New City Commercial Corporation (NCCC),
a Davao City, Philippines-based mall and retail outlet developer,
has selected solutions from JDAs industry-leading Merchandising
and Store Operations solutions to achieve operational efficiencies,
maximize sales and satisfy consumer demand for its four malls.
With more than 30 years in the retail business, NCCC continues
to grow as the corporation expands into different retail businesses
and locations to better serve consumers. NCCCs sprawling,
four-story retail concourse in Davao City along MacArthur Highway
provides customers with a one-stop shopping experience in a single
location that includes bowling alleys, restaurants, cinemas,
pharmacy, hardware, a supermarket and a department store. The first
NCCC outlet still stands along Ramon Magsaysay Avenue, while two
mall outlets are located in the cities of Tagum, Davao del Norte
and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
In support of our corporate strategies and ambitious plans for
expansion, NCCC assessed its supply chain processes to focus on
creating an integrated, enterprise-wide platform, leveraging JDA to
achieve a single view of demand and centrally managed retail
operations. This will allow for a more consumer-centric merchandise
and assortment strategy for all of our retail malls, said
Tjader Regis, information, communications, technology and
marketing director, NCCC. By implementing JDA Merchandise
Management System (MMS) and JDA Win/DSS point-of-sale (POS)
solutions, NCCC will be positioned to drive market share, remain
competitive, increase revenues and effectively plan for future
expansions, even in light of increasing competition from national
retail chains. Having one synchronized view of demand across our
supply chain and the ability to execute our core merchandise
management processes will improve merchandise planning and optimize
inventory, as well as integrate POS, labor and customer data to
support strategic and tactical processes factors that are
crucial to our retail development success in southern Mindanao and
Palawan.
Regis adds, We are looking forward to taking advantage of the
robust functionality, scalability, outstanding stability and
reliability that the JDA solutions offer to manage all of our
pricing and promotions strategies, as well as replenishment
management initiative. With the scheduled implementation of
additional licenses for JDAs MMS Warehouse Management module later
this year, NCCCs drive for profitable replenishment and improved
operational performance for its current retail ventures will also
support the companys expansion plans.
Our positive experience and success is a testament of how the
success of an enterprise-wide system project is a result of
combining strong top management vision and support, a focused
strategic project management framework and the implementation of
the best software solutions on the market, said Joseph Uy, Jr.,
chief information and communication technology consultant,
NCCC, who, together with Regis, spearheads the JDA MMS and JDA
Win/DSS implementation for NCCC. All three of the above-mentioned
areas are critical factors to the success of the project. The JDA
system is able to support NCCCs retail plans and programs, as well
as provide best-practice processes, that are continually leveraged
to enable NCCC to gain greater competitive advantage.
Stephen McNulty, JDA Software regional vice president, Asia
Pacific, commented, Todays consumers shop at every channel,
expecting consistent service at all locations. For success in this
mall format and outlet environment, retailers must adapt to
consumer demands, leverage growth opportunities, embrace integrated
technology that adapts across sales channels and efficiently
execute corporate strategies at the store level to drive profitable
growth. By investing in advanced Merchandising and Store Operations
technology, retailers can gain enterprise-wide visibility into
inventory and maximize the return on their IT investment.
McNulty added, We are pleased to partner with NCCC as it
continues to invest in JDA solutions to improve operational
performance and optimize its inventory to help improve margins and
increase revenues while maintaining superior service levels, and
ultimately achieve success with its expanding enterprise.
