Statoil Awards $187 Million Drilling Services Deal to Baker Hughes

Norway's Statoil ASA (STO) has awarded Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) a
1.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($186.9 million) deal to provide
integrated drilling services for the Johan Sverdrup field, the
latest in a string of contracts Statoil is awarding ahead of next
year's drilling start-up on the giant North Sea field.
The contract is valid for six years and includes an option for a
further four years.
Statoil has been inviting tenders for integrated services on the
Johan Sverdrup field in order to reduce total well costs and
achieve more efficient well services, it said.
