Hays Posts 1st Half Profit Of GBP48.6 Million, Outlook Remains Positive

International recruitment business Hays PLC (HAS.LN) said Monday
it made a pretax profit of GBP48.6 million for the first half of
the year, compared with GBP3.4 million reported in the first half
of 2009, and added that outlook remains positive across nearly all
of its markets.
MAIN FACTS:
-Turnover for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2010, GBP1.58
billion (2009: GBP1.29 billion).
-Adjusted pretax profit GBP48.6 million (2009: GBP30.4
million).
-Net fees GBP326.1 million (2009: GBP264.8 million).
-Diluted EPS 2.29 pence (2009: loss 0.58 pence).
-Adjusted EPS 2.34 pence (2009: 1.38 pence).
-Net debt at end of period GBP125.7 million (2009: GBP38.4
million).
-Cash and cash equivalents at end of period GBP42.6 million
(2009: GBP119.2 million).
-Dividend per share 1.85 pence (2009: 1.85 pence).
-Shares on Friday closed at GBP1.20.
