Interact-TV Expands Into Educational Markets - eTelly Accepted by
Two School Districts as Multimedia Distribution Platform in Pilot
Program - WESTMINSTER, Colo., April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Interact-TV(TM) (OTC:ITVI), a leading developer of Linux-based home
entertainment servers, is pleased to announce that eTelly, a
customized version of its high performance Telly Home Entertainment
Server(TM), has successfully completed initial testing and has been
accepted by two school districts for piloting as a networked
multimedia distribution platform. Interact-TV partnered with
Info-Data Services Inc., a leading provider of system integration
consulting services, in the eTelly implementation which addresses
the needs of the teacher in the classroom. Using eTelly's central
video library, a teacher is able to select a video by subject
matter, title or grade level using a series of simple-to-use menus.
eTelly allows the teacher to easily preview videos on their desktop
computer to make sure the content correctly represents their
curriculum and then select the complete video or bookmarked
segments to view in class with the students. Students can go to the
school library to view a video they missed when they were absent or
to review before a test. Music and photographs are also available
from the eTelly central library. "We are gratified with the
acceptance of our customized offering to this vertical market which
was based upon input from teachers and school administrators and
look forward to continuing to enhance our offering as the needs of
the educational market evolve," stated Don Dashefsky, President of
Info-Data Services. eTelly eliminates the traditional distribution
problems found in school districts across the country where it is
often difficult to get access to media; either videos are stored at
remote locations or they are in use at other facilities. eTelly
provides a robust and cost effective solution for distributing
digital multimedia within a school. With eTelly, digital content
resides on a single eTelly server and any teacher or student can
access that content using a PC that resides on the school's
network. The digital content is always available. "eTelly is able
to leverage the cost effective Telly Home Entertainment Server
product line and its supporting Linux-based EOS software platform
to deliver a solution targeting this vertical market," stated Ken
Fuhrman, CEO of Interact-TV. "The scalability of the eTelly that
currently allows for up to 1.2 Terabytes of digital media storage
and its ability to index video segments is perfect for the
educational environment." Find more information about eTelly and
