Network's unique programming will focus on interests of nation's 'emerging majority': African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- CRM Studios today announced it has executed a letter of intent to enter into a strategic agreement with Urban Television Network Corporation (NASDAQ:URBT) to re-launch the Urban Television Network. URBT will provide programming specifically targeting African-, Hispanic- and Asian-American audiences. CRM Studios is an independent, top-tier film and video production company based in Fort Worth. Under terms of the proposed agreement, URBT will move its staff and operations from its former headquarters in Arlington, TX, to CRM Studios' 48,000-square-foot facility, which houses three sound stages and 10 editing suites, as well as 50 creative and production professionals. Long term, CRM Studios will help develop and produce URBT programming and broadcast it nationwide. "The agreement between CRM Studios and URBT will be unique in the broadcast industry," said CRM Studios COO Tim Davis. "URBT is focused on establishing itself as the leading supplier of urban programming for distribution through all media platforms, including WiFi, voice on demand, cell phones, Internet protocol television, cable and broadcast. The company is developing the capability to air more programming provided by minority independent producers than any other broadcast network in the nation. "By co-locating with CRM Studios, URBT has access to our company's full range of video, film production and studio services under one roof," Davis said. "Our 'Studio Concept' provides URBT with the most complete turnkey facility in the Southwest, allowing their executives to literally walk across the hallway to a CRM soundstage with script in hand and return with a high- quality, professionally-produced television or feature film-length programming." "URBT's focus on urban lifestyles follows the trends set by African-, Hispanic- and Asian-Americans who strongly influence our nation's fashion, music, language and general market buying habits," said Jacob Miles, CEO of URBT. "These groups watch more television than the national average, are very responsive to marketing messages, and have enormous buying power." Several minority-based programs already have tentative agreements with URBT to broadcast on its new network, including "Neo Soul," "Ed Buggs," "Latin Eyes," and "Pacific Fusion." In addition to CEO Miles, and founder and long time CFO Randy Moseley, URBT's executive suite includes Kevin S. Wiley, interim chief operating officer, and Alfred Baker, interim executive vice president and controller. Both men served in these positions at the Pro-Line Corporation and the Heritage Media Group before joining URBT. They both bring to the enterprise extensive experience in domestic and international business finance, reporting, budgeting and planning. Kevin Wiley, interim COO, stated: "We are very fortunate to have dynamic investors, led by R.J. Halden Holdings, Inc. who have had the vision to set the stage for this transaction with CRM. In addition, they have together provided the capital and wisdom to allow consummation of this transaction." About CRM Studios CRM Studios is an independent, top-tier film/video production company.
