Brazilian railroad equipment manufacturer Iochpe-Maxion (MYPK3.BR) said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire the wheel-manufacturing units of ArvinMeritor Inc. (ARM) in Brazil, Mexico and the U.S for approximately $180 million.

According to Iochpe-Maxion, the acquisition includes a Brazilian wheel-making plant in Sao Paulo state with an annual capacity of around 14 million motor vehicle wheels and the Mexican wheel plant in the city of San Luis Potosi, with a 6 million wheel per year capacity. It also acquired North American customer support offices, including sales, engineering, quality-control, logistics and finance, in Troy, Michigan, which has approximately 20 employees and three leased warehouses.

The acquisition is pending approval by anti-trust authorities in each of the countries involved in the transaction and by the Iochpe-Maxion's shareholders.
