WELLINGTON--Intel Capital, the investment and merger and
acquisition arm of Intel Corp. (INTC), has invested in a New
Zealand technology company that specializes in real-time exercise
measurement, analysis and virtual coaching software.
Financial details of the investment weren't released.
"The sports, fitness, health and wellness sectors are fuelling
strong global demand for smart gadgets," said Sudheer Kuppam, Intel
Capital Asia Pacific Managing Director. "Performance Lab's suite of
products provides enduring value to the smart gadgets that
customers are incorporating into their health and fitness
regimen."
Performance Lab has a number of products that provide the next
generation of intelligence for exercise and activity application
and works across most fitness and wellness devices. It provides
automated coaching in real-time to optimise a user's performance
based on sensor detection.
