Somatic Systems, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SMAS) is pleased to announce that it has been listed in the professional directory for government contractors, the CCRPro.

Last month, Somatic Systems reported that is now registered with the United States Government's Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as a healthcare service, and assigned its own commercial identification code by the United States Department of Defense. The CCR registers all contractors for the Department of Defense, and CCR registration is a critical requirement for any vendor to do business with the Department of Defense. The Registration was an important stage in the work for Somatic Systems to become fully approved providers for the military and Veterans Affairs, enabling Clinical Somatics treatment of all active and retired military personnel, family, dependents, and survivors to be paid for by the military.

While listing in the CCR is a tremendous milestone for Somatic Systems, the CCR has limited capabilities to display contractor information. On the other hand, the CCRPro provides directory listings of government contractors that supply significantly greater information about the company and their services. Considered the "Online Yellow Pages" for government contractors, the CCRPro's extended information on a contractor's services, background, and qualifications enable federal government agencies to make more informed choices and purchases.

Additionally, the CCRPro is a selective directory, featuring only approximately 500 of the thousands of government contractors. The selectivity and detailed coverage is especially useful in cases where the company offers a premiere, best-in-class service such as Somatic Systems' proprietary pain management treatments.

Somatic Systems has been working extensively with the US military and private consulting agencies to provide its Clinical Somatics pain management services to the nation's soldiers, veterans, and families. This CCRPro listing is one of many examples of Somatic Systems' dramatically increased profile and presence within this important current effort to contract with the US military.

The Military Chronic Pain Crisis

Somatic Systems has been working to obtain contracts and its proprietary Clinical Somatics pain-care services for US military hospitals and the Veterans Administration. In addition to seeking in-house arrangements at bases and facilities, the company also announced that it is preparing to rollout multiple clinics at military base locations throughout the US, to provide easy access to Clinical Somatics services at a time when the US military is strongly seeking satisfactory pain treatment solutions such as Clinical Somatics -- and following a wave of legislation including the Military Pain Care Act of 2008, which requires the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services and the Surgeon General of the United States to implement and maintain a pain care initiative in all military health care facilities and for all active and retired military personnel, dependents, and survivors.

Nearly 26 million living Americans have served in the military, and pain is the most common symptom and cause of disability amongst veterans, with more than 40% of returning service members reporting musculoskeletal pain-related problems and symptoms. Additionally, long-term sufferers as well as family members and other dependents of all ages also face pain and other musculoskeletal problems; and this population totals over 70 million people, served by the Veterans Administration. In the face of this, military officials, medical authorities, and government officials have reported frustration that the military does not yet have a satisfactory pain care program in place.

With its high success rate, non-invasive methods, and completely natural, drug-free approaches that can be utilized effectively with every fitness level and condition, Somatic Systems has been successfully presenting its Clinical Somatics pain treatment methods as just such a pain care program to satisfactorily serve the US military's 70 million soldiers, veterans, and families.
