HENRY BOOT PLC
('Henry Boot' or 'the Group')
Establishment of new Responsible Business Committee
The Board of Henry Boot PLC, one of the UK's leading and
long-standing property investment and development, land promotion
and construction companies, is pleased to announce the
establishment of a new Responsible Business Committee.
The aims of the Responsible Business Committee are to support
the Board and Executive Committee of the Group with the
development, delivery, and evaluation of the Group's new
Responsible Business Strategy, to advise on proposed changes to
reporting and governance, and to incorporate Environmental, Social
and Governance (ESG) ambitions and targets in the Group's
commercial strategy.
The Responsible Business Committee is chaired by Non-executive
Director, Peter Mawson, who has a wealth of experience across the
property and built environment industry, from both public and
private sector perspectives, together with extensive planning
expertise.
Members of the Responsible Business Committee include fellow
Non-executive Directors Joanne Lake, James Sykes and Gerald
Jennings, along with the Chief Executive Officer and Group Finance
Director, who will each be responsible for providing input and
insight, together with sponsorship and support of a number of
different pillars across the ESG agenda. Committee support will
also be provided by Amy Stanbridge, General Counsel and Company
Secretary.
The establishment of the Responsible Business Committee
coincides with the launch of the first phase of the Group's new
Responsible Business Strategy - 135 Henry Boot. The Committee will
play a crucial role in providing oversight and support with the
delivery of the Strategy and the Group's approach to reporting and
governance.
Chief Executive Officer, Tim Roberts, said: "This is an exciting
step forwards for us as a Group, to have representation of our ESG
agenda at the highest level and to ensure that these matters are
given the importance they deserve. Our Board were very keen to make
sure that issues such as the climate change agenda, diversity and
inclusion, and community engagement received sufficient prominence
and are incorporated into our commercial planning and decision
making. This Committee will support the Group as we build on our
foundations of responsibility and up our collective responsibility
to our people, partners, places and planet."
