Charlton Athletic Plc ("Charlton")

Charlton announces that it intends to raise additional funds
through the issue of further equity of between #3 million and
#5 million, following the Club's recent promotion to the FA
Premier League.

These proceeds will be used to further increase the cash
resources available to the Club Manager, Alan Curbishley, to
strengthen the playing squad.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
