              CHARLTON ATHLETIC plc ("Charlton")
                      TRANSFER AGREEMENT
                               
The Board of Charlton announces that agreement has been reached
with Leeds United for the transfer of Danny Mills, their first
team right-back, for a transfer fee of up to #4.375 million.
Mills was called into the England squad for the Bulgarian
qualifier following six under 21 England caps and a successful
1998/99 Premier League season.  Norwich City will also benefit
from this transfer, due to a 20% sell on charge negotiated when
Mills signed for Charlton, 15 months ago.
 
The Board is also pleased to announce that Charlton's captain,
Mark Kinsella has signed a five year deal with the club which
will keep him at The Valley until 2004.  The Republic of
Ireland midfield player is playing a key role in Ireland's Euro
2000 campaign.
