ACS Enhancing Pedestrian and Vehicle Safety With Invisa Technology
SARASOTA, Fla. and PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., March 22
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Invisa Inc. (OTC:INSA) (BULLETIN BOARD:
INSA) and Automatic Control Systems, Inc. (ACS) today announced an
OEM relationship under which ACS will integrate Invisa's
SmartGate(R) technology into its line of BL Security Barrier Gates.
ACS is the third major manufacturer of parking gates to recently
announce an OEM relationship with Invisa. ACS has been a leader in
the entrance control industry for over 40 years. Invisa estimates
that annually approximately 60,000 new parking gates are sold
worldwide and that a million parking gates are currently in
service. Ensuring that parking gates operate with optimal
pedestrian and vehicle safety is equally important for parking
gates that are already in service, as it is for new gate
installations. The agreement between Invisa and ACS relates to both
newly manufactured and existing in-service gates. Mark R. Perkins,
National Sales Manager, Automatic Control Systems, Inc., stated,
"ACS, Inc. continues to be a leader in integrating technology to
improve gate operator reliability and safety. We have joined
Invisa's OEM program so we can integrate the high level of
non-contact pedestrian and vehicle safety afforded by Invisa's
technology into our BL Security Barrier Gate line at the time of
initial manufacture. We will continue to maintain our leadership
position internationally by offering our customers the 'state of
the art' in gate operator technology. Integrating the Invisa
technology can help ACS maintain that position." Carl Parks, Vice
President of Operations for Invisa, stated, "Safety is a growing
trend industry-wide and leaders are placing increased importance on
minimizing the risks that parking gates pose to pedestrians and
vehicles. Quality gate manufacturers, like ACS, are staying ahead
of this safety trend by integrating Invisa's patented technology at
their factory to provide non- contact safety that moves with and in
front of the gate arm." In discussing the large number of
in-service gates, Mr. Perkins of ACS concluded, "As security
integrators, dealers and end-users become more aware of the need to
ensure gate safety at their sites, we anticipate growing market
attention to Invisa's SmartGate as an aftermarket non-contact gate
safety solution. At ACS, we are always seeking better alternatives
to existing contact switch technologies; therefore we have chosen
Invisa's SmartGate technology to provide improved rising barrier
gate operator safety." Invisa's line of SmartGate safety equipment
is the only electronic non- contact safety system designed to
provide an invisible field that moves with and precedes the gate
arm. If the gate arm with SmartGate senses a pedestrian, bicycle,
motorcycle, car or other vehicle, the gate arm is signaled to stop
and reverse before any contact has been made to avoid injury or
damage. Mr. Parks of Invisa concluded, "ACS is a technology leader
in the parking gate market and we are pleased that they have chosen
to integrate our SmartGate safety equipment into their long-term
product strategy. We believe that our relationship with ACS will
not only benefit Invisa's penetration in the U.S. market but will
also significantly expand our global presence." Manufacturers

years of experience and leadership in the entrance control
industry, and sets the standard in this critical market. Given the
thousands of high-profile installations throughout the world, you
almost certainly have come across ACS equipment installations: the
Sears Tower in Chicago, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Disney World in
Florida, the BART in San Francisco, Penn Station in New York, the
Palm Springs Airport, Star Ferries in Hong Kong, and hundreds of
other high-traffic venues that are all protected by Automatic
Control Systems' entrance control systems. About Invisa Invisa
presence-sensing solutions serve the electronic life safety and
security markets. Invisa's proprietary InvisaShield(R) technology
is based upon capacitive sensing and is resistant to known methods
of circumvention without employing infrared, laser, ultrasound or
microwave radiation. InvisaShield can detect intruders who violate
a sensing zone ranging from millimeters up to 1 meter. Invisa's
SmartGate(R) safety system generates an invisible protective field
that moves with and precedes the potentially hazardous leading edge
of powered gates, garage doors, sliding doors and other powered
closures. For information about SmartGate products or the patented
InvisaShield technology, visit http://www.invisa.com/ or call
