New Maxima Competency Centres confirm focus on areas of core technology
competency
1 July 2010
MAXIMA RNS RELEASE: ("Maxima" or "the company")
Maxima Holdings plc (AIM: MXM), the IT business systems and managed services
company, has announced that it has opened the first two in a series of
specialist Maxima Competency Centres to be launched this year, aimed at
differentiating the company and demonstrating its ability to deliver
cloud-enabled solutions for customers.
With the opening of the company's
Virtualisation Competency Centre in Dublin and a Microsoft Competency Centre in
the Thames Valley, Maxima is delivering on its commitment to invest in those
technology areas where the company has a core competence - and where there is a
stronger propensity to spend among FDs, CIOs and their IT operations.
The
new Maxima Virtualisation and Microsoft Competency Centres will be followed by
two further Business Intelligence and Unified Infrastructure centres. These will
be based in London and opened later this summer. The new centres are part of a
major Maxima investment programme to create state-of-the-art, themed
demonstration and presentation facilities that will also serve as a showcase for
the company's proven solutions capabilities.
Maxima Chief Executive Officer Graham Kingsmill commented:"These two new
Competency Centres are an important element in our programme to re-engineer the
Maxima business so that our technology, infrastructure and business solutions
are completely aligned with the requirements of cloud-based services. Visitors
to our new Competency Centres will be able to see all the latest virtualisation
techniques and Microsoft solutions in action, see how the technologies play a
key role in the development of broader cloud-enabled solutions, and gain an
insight into exactly the kind of benefits they're likely to achieve through
successful deployment."
Maxima's strategic technology partners have
welcomed the launch of the new Competency Centres. Niall Gilmore, Sales Country
Manager for Citrix Ireland, said: "we encourage organisations considering a
virtualisation approach to get in touch with Maxima and find out how they can
put virtualisation and our Citrix solutions to work in their business".
Microsoft's Product Manager for Microsoft Dynamics AX, Fiona Nolan also
commented, saying: "Maxima is creating a best practice template for how partners
can take their Microsoft Dynamics AX propositions to market."
