Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation Elects Two New
Members To Its Board of Directors PHOENIX, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ --
Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF), a non-profit
Foundation created to enrich the lives of Arizona's foster
children, today announced it has added two Valley executives to its
Board of Directors. Paul Blavin and Judy Nelson were unanimously
elected to serve on the Board for 3-year terms. Mr. Blavin is
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blavin & Company, a
Scottsdale-based investment firm. Prior to starting his company,
Mr. Blavin graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan
undergraduate business school and received his MBA from Harvard
Business School. In addition to Judy Nelson's extensive management
background working as a past Senior Vice-President for an
international hotel chain, she brings a solid background of civic
involvement to the Board. Prior to joining AFFCF, Ms. Nelson served
on the Private Industry Council for City of Phoenix and Maricopa
County, served for seven years on the Fiesta Bowl Committee, worked
with the local Cystic Fibrosis Chapter to establish a Teen Advisory
Board, served on a Secretary of Education-chaired Washington, D.C.
panel of business executives for the Business/Education Partnership
Program and chaired a local Teen Service Club. Ms. Nelson has also
been a former award recipient of the Top Female Executives in
Phoenix by Arizona Woman Magazine. "The AFFCF's success depends in
large part on the commitment of our volunteer board of directors.
