Italy's antitrust regulator Wednesday said it started a probe
into Italgas SpA and municipal utility A2A SpA (A2A.MI) for the
possible abuse of its dominant position in the electricity and
natural gas markets.
In a statement, the regulator said it started the investigation
into the two companies, as well as Rome-based municipal utility
Acea SpA (ACE.MI), after receiving a complaint from rival utility
Sorgenia.
Italgas is controlled by Eni SpA (E).
