Dow Jones News
Microsoft Corp.'s board is considering Ericsson Chief Executive
Hans Vestberg as a potential successor to departing leader Steve
Ballmer, Bloomberg reported, citing people briefed on the
search.
Mr. Vestberg is in the running alongside other candidates,
Bloomberg reported late Wednesday, citing the people.
Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally earlier this month ended
speculation that he would succeed Mr. Ballmer by saying he would
stay at the auto maker. The Wall Street Journal has reported that
other possible candidates who at one time have discussed the CEO
job with Microsoft directors have included former Nokia Corp. chief
executive Stephen Elop, Oracle Corp. President Mark Hurd, Pivotal
Software Inc. CEO Paul Maritz and Microsoft executives Satya
Nadella and Tony Bates.
