The New York Stock Exchange and the Tokyo Stock Exchange signed
a new collaboration agreement on Thursday to support cross-border
investment between the U.S. and Japan.
Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., the parent company of the NYSE,
said the memorandum was signed during the visit of Japanese Prime
Minister Fumio Kishida to the NYSE and was finalized in a ceremony
on the exchange's trading floor.
The agreement focuses on developing investment products,
marketing activities targeting U.S. and Japanese investors, and on
the exchange of information on sustainability, market operations
and other topics, according to ICE.
The two exchanges had previously signed an agreement on
cooperation in February 2000 and established a strategic alliance
in January 2007, ICE said.
