August 26 2019 - 7:17AM
Dow Jones News
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported an operational disruption and
above-normal gas emissions over the weekend at its refinery in Port
Arthur, Texas.
In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality,
the refinery cited a "process upset" that caused some 5,358 pounds
of sulfur dioxide emissions. "Operations followed procedures to
minimize emissions and mitigate the upset," the refinery said.
The emissions began Saturday night and lasted about four hours,
it said.
The 335,000-barrel-a-day refinery is east of Houston.
