Founded in 1915, ACH provides child-centered and family-focused
services to address the needs of children and families in crisis.
As the agency prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary, it sets
an example for replicable programs in child welfare by offering the
broad range of services that dramatically strengthen families and
programs for abused and neglected children.
“ACH’s dedicated staff provides hope to thousands of children
and families in our community each year,” Tillerson said.
“ExxonMobil is proud to play a role in furthering its mission and
celebrating its devotion to serving North Texans for 100
years.”
In 2013, ACH provided vital assistance to more than 30,000
people in the North Texas community. The agency offers a range of
critical services, including crisis intervention and family
counseling; youth counseling and life-skills classes; parenting
classes; emergency shelter and transitional living for the homeless
and runaway youth; and street outreach, education and support for
homeless and trafficked youth.
“This generous gift from ExxonMobil will serve to further our
mission to give stability and hope to children and their families,
especially at this time of the holidays,” said Dr. Wayne Carson,
CEO, ACH Child and Family Services. “We are deeply appreciative of
this donation as we look forward to another century of making a
difference.”
ExxonMobil established the holiday gift in 2006 to support North
Texas nonprofit agencies during the holiday season. Past recipients
include Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County, Grapevine
Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE), Interfaith Housing
Coalition, Irving Cares, Lena Pope Home, Presbyterian Night Shelter
of Tarrant County, St. Philip’s School and Community Center, and
Vogel Alcove.
