LONDON, August 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Square Enix Ltd. the publisher of
SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today
announces KooZac™, the award-winning numbers puzzler with over 15
million online plays, is now available for iPhone, iPad and iPod
touch, priced £0.69/$0.99/€0.79.
"Caught somewhere between Tetris and Sudoku," (BBC) the concept
of KooZac is simple: position the falling number blocks on top of
each other to create a target number. Complete a set amount of
target numbers to destroy the silver blocks and finish each level.
KooZac has been fully re-imagined for iOS touch-screen devices,
offering users three simple ways to play, an easily accessible
interface, and boosts to enhance the gaming experience.
Devised by Ben Cusack, the game
has racked up over 15 million plays online and picked up a Channel
4 "Best International Interactive Viral" award. With the original
concept created following years of research into what makes an
evergreen puzzle game, in 2011 Square Enix moved to acquire the
KooZac license, and also hired Ben
Cusack in the process to ramp-up its mobile offering.
Ben Cusack, creator of the game,
comments, "When creating KooZac, the main objective has always been
to make an immersive and rewarding puzzle game that anyone of any
gaming experience can learn, enjoy and share with others."
Antony Douglas, General Manager
Mobile at Square Enix Ltd., comments, "KooZac has all the makings
of a classic puzzle game and heralds a new style of casual game for
Square Enix Ltd and our expanding mobile portfolio. Since its
original online launch the game has enjoyed huge recognition from
the media, the industry and its fans. The addition of Ben on board
as Brand and Marketing Director Mobile, also gives us unparalleled
expertise and insight."
KooZac offers ways to play:
• Puzzle - Play through 60 levels, destroying the silver
puzzle blocks and clearing the board by completing the targets.
• Endless - No level, no stage - compete against the world
in Endless mode and use multi gems to rack up huge scores.
• Blitz - Complete targets and use boosts in order to get
the highest score possible in one minute. By connecting with
Facebook, players can compete with others for high scores on live
leaderboards and weekly competitions
Users can enhance their game experience with additional in-game
boosts including Hint, Side-by-Side, Match Them All, Multiplier and
