    New Star Financial Opportunities Fund Limited (the "Company")

    In accordance with the Company's Treasury share policy where shares purchased for Treasury can be held only for a period of tweleve
months before being cancelled, the Company's Treasury holding of 4,236,992 Ordinary Shares is cancelled with immediate effect.

    The Company's capital now consists of 38,132,932 Ordinary 0.1 pence Shares of which none is held in Treasury.

    The total number of voting rights in the Company, therefore, is 38,132,932, all of which are identical.   This figure may be used by
shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a
change to their interest in the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
