--A flaw in engines blades produced by Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RYCEY) is forcing carriers to ground some model 787 jets made by Boeing Co. (BA), Bloomberg reports Thursday.

--The report, citing "a person familiar with the situation," said about 40 of Boeing's planes have been grounded for immediate attention.

--According to the report, the person familiar with the situation said air-safety regulators intend to publish a formal requirement for repairs.

--Rolls-Royce said "We continue to proactively manage a number of known durability issues within our Trent 1000 fleet and have made good progress in redesigning and replacing affected parts," according to the report.
