With the Outstanding Corporate Award for its Contributions To the
Asian American Community DETROIT, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The
Association of Chinese Americans (ACA), the Detroit Chapter of the
Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) presented General Motors
(GM) with the Outstanding Corporate Award for its contributions to
the Asian American community at its 31st Annual Dinner on October
25 in Dearborn, Michigan. Ying Gee, President of ACA commended GM
for its support and service for the Asian American community. "We
want to take this opportunity to say thank you for GM's generous
financial and in-kind assistance. GM's support has made the 'Unsung
Heroes' awards, scholarships and youth development programs a
reality and our organization has also benefited from computer
equipment donation and business and technical assistance," said
Gee. "We applaud GM's commitment and respect for the continued
development of the Asian American community," added Gee. Rod
Gillum, Vice President of General Motors and Chairman of the GM
Foundation accepted the award on behalf of the company. "GM has not
only been continuously developing its high quality, reliable, and
cutting-edge vehicles that will better satisfy the Asian American
vehicle buyer, we are also committed to helping the progress of the
Asian American community both within our own organization and
outside of GM," said Gillum. "We're very pleased that support from

Asian American community here in the Detroit area and also

and professional organizations for the advancement of Asian
