Israeli Shekel Drops To 9-day Low Against Greenback

Extending European session downtrend, the Israeli currency
declined further against the US dollar in New York deals on
Wednesday. The shekel, which closed yesterday's New York session at
3.6912 against the greenback, dropped to a 9-day low of 3.7275 by
about 10:35 am ET. At present, the pair is trading near 3.7230.
Wednesday, Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics announced that
the jobless rate stood at 7.4% in November, down from 7.5% in the
previous month. This was the lowest level since January 2009. A
year ago, the jobless rate was 6.6%.
