On October 28, 2008, Invitrogen Corporation, a Delaware
corporation, or the Company, issued a press release announcing, among other things, its shareholders approval of certain proposals in connection with the Companys proposed merger with Applied Biosystems Inc. at a special meeting of the
shareholders. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
