Microsoft Inc. (MSFT) on Tuesday said T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS)
will be its technical partner on beta tests of Project xCloud,
which will stream Xbox games to smartphones and tablets.
The two companies will introduce the beta testing next month,
streaming games, including Halo 5: Guardians and Sea of Thieves
over LTE.
Starting next month, Microsoft said, it will "invite a limited
number of players into the Project xCloud public preview to stream
popular Xbox titles over T-Mobile's advanced LTE network to their
smartphones and tablets. Starting with Android, the preview will
include Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians, Sea of Thieves and Killer
Instinct with more titles and devices coming over time."
Project xCloud will allow Microsoft and T-Mobile to learn how
gamers stream titles on the go, the companies said.
