The “Buy 1 & We’ll Give 1” effort runs
October 21 through October 26, with a goal to donate 50,000 new
coats to those in need this season
Macy’s, in partnership with anti-poverty organization
Clothes4Souls, announced today an increased commitment for its “Buy
1 & We’ll Give 1” coat program that first launched in 2013.
From now through Sunday, Oct. 26, Macy’s will donate one coat, up
to 50,000 coats, to Clothes4Souls, for every coat purchased in the
men’s, women’s, juniors’ and children’s outerwear departments in
Macy’s stores and on macys.com. To help customers save while they
give this season, Macy’s will offer 30-50 percent off a large
selection of men’s, women’s and children’s coats during the
campaign.

“With the support of Macy’s customers, we were able to meet our
goal of donating 30,000 much-needed coats last year,” said Holly
Thomas, Macy’s group vice president of media relations and cause
marketing. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with
Clothes4Souls by increasing our commitment to 50,000 coats to help
the men, women and children in our local communities stay warm this
holiday season. We know Macy’s customers and associates will be
excited to continue giving back to this worthy cause.”
“Macy’s has a long history of making a difference,” said Buddy
Teaster, CEO of Soles4Souls. “The second year of working with them
means that another 50,000 people all across the United States will
be able to get through winter with a warm coat. It takes a great
partner to care for those in need and Macy’s is providing
incredibly valuable coats at exactly the right time. For
Clothes4Souls, this is one of our favorite partnerships of the
year.”
