Dr. Adam Chowaniec Appointed Vice-Chair of Zarlink Board of Directors

OTTAWA, CANADA (NYSE: ZL) today announced that Dr. Adam
Chowaniec has been appointed vice-chair of Zarlink's Board of
Directors, effective immediately.
In this new position, Dr. Chowaniec will be responsible for
monitoring and refining the Zarlink's strategic plan, in
consultation with the Board of Directors, the management team, and
shareholders. Dr. Chowaniec joined Zarlink's Board in February
2007, and brings a wealth of technology knowledge and leadership
expertise to Zarlink.
