Software AG today announced that the company was ranked #1 in MDM technology by leading independent MDM analyst firm The Information Difference. The ranking was published in the firm’s third annual report, “The MDM Landscape Q2 2011”, and Software AG’s MDM product – webMethods OneData – has been ranked #1 in technology each of the three years.

The report’s technology score is derived from customer satisfaction, analyst impression of the technology, maturity of the technology in the marketplace and breadth of the technology against the analyst firm’s functionality model. Software AG’s webMethods OneData technology is built on a mature, multi-domain product and globally-recognized brand – OneData – acquired through the acquisition of New Jersey-based Data Foundations, Inc. in October 2010.

Andy Hayler, President and CEO of The Information Difference, stated: “Software AG’s OneData MDM solution continues to score well in our Landscape for its technology, receiving among the highest rankings in customer satisfaction. Since the Data Foundations acquisition, Software AG has integrated OneData into the webMethods portfolio, providing their customers with a broader enterprise IT environment.”

“Software AG is honored to be recognized by The Information Difference as an MDM technology leader,” said Dr. Wolfram Jost, Chief Technology Officer, Software AG. “Giving organizations a solution to improve process performance and decision-making by providing a single, consistent view of enterprise master data is the strength of MDM. webMethods OneData is unique in the MDM marketplace because it allows process strategy to drive MDM strategy, not the other way around. Businesses can therefore directly link their investments in MDM to process improvements in order to measure the impact and generate a quantifiable return.”

According to The Information Difference, the global MDM market experienced dramatic growth in 2010, increasing 31 percent over 2009. The report cites "a dramatic upsurge in the awareness of how data governance should be an integrated part of, if not a precursor to, a successful MDM program.” webMethods OneData is a complete MDM solution, incorporating data governance plus management capabilities that enable users to reconcile, cleanse, and synchronize master data on elements such as products, metadata, reference data and hierarchy data. The flexible platform allows webMethods OneData to be scaled and extended as customers’ data needs grow, allowing them to maximize their investment. A user-friendly interface and vast array of data management features make webMethods OneData a true enterprise data hub.
