Software AG Appoints Paul Orme-Smith as CEO of Software AG USA, Inc.

Software AG today announced it has appointed Paul Orme-Smith
as CEO North America for its fully-owned subsidiary, Software AG
USA, Inc., headquarted in Reston, Virginia. The company also named
him a member of the Group Executive Board. This move reflects the
vital importance of North American operations to Software AG as the
company increases its investments in the USA.

Among the key initiatives for Orme-Smith is the expansion of
Software AG’s presence and customer base on the West Coast. As part
of this, Software AG is relocating key elements of its Research
& Development, Product Marketing and Merger & Acquisition
functions to the area. His other priorities include: the creation
of a new Federal unit to secure more business with the U.S.
government sector, and the development of a new national sales team
focused on the Life Sciences industry to build on recent successes
with Software AG’s supply chain visibility solutions.
With leadership abilities spanning nearly two decades with
Software AG, Orme-Smith was most recently President North America
Sales and now adds CEO and board member to his credentials. Prior
to those appointments he was Senior Vice President of Sales
responsible for the field sales force focused on Adabas and Natural
customers throughout the U.S.
