EDMONTON, June 13, 2014 /CNW/ - The Brick's inaugural
Proudly Canadian Event in support of Wounded Warriors, held this
year during the month of April, raised $66,138 for Canadian Veterans and their families.
The event prominently featured upholstered furniture items designed
and manufactured by Canadians for Canadians.
From April 3 to 30,
2014, The Brick joined forces with Wounded Warriors, a
non-profit organization that supports Canadian military and
veterans who have been injured while serving Canada. For every piece of
Canadian-made furniture purchased at The Brick from April 3 to 30th, 2014, The Brick made
a donation to Wounded Warriors of $5
per piece and up to $25 if three
pieces were purchased together.
"Canadians appreciate the sacrifices that our
Canadian military and their families have made and they showed it
during The Brick's Proudly Canadian Event," said Jim Caldwell, President of The
Brick. " We are honoured we could be a part of this
successful event."
Scott Maxwell,
Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada, commented, "The
Brick took real initiative and delivered by raising over
$66 thousand in support of Wounded
Warriors Canada. We sincerely thank The Brick, and the
supporters of The Brick's Proudly Canadian Event by raising
important awareness and funds to support our national programs and
services geared towards mental health."
