EDMONTON, July 11, 2014 /CNW/ - Over the Canada Day long weekend, The Brick ran again its
Proudly Canadian Event in support of Wounded Warriors, and raised
$16,088 for Canadian Veterans and
their families. The event prominently featured upholstered
furniture items designed and manufactured by Canadians for
Canadians. This is the second time The Brick has run this
event, increasing the total donation to Wounded Warriors to over
$80,000.
From June 27 to July 3,
2014, The Brick joined forces with Wounded Warriors, a
non-profit organization that supports Canadian military and
veterans who have been injured while serving Canada. For every piece of
Canadian-made furniture purchased at The Brick from June 27th to July 3rd, 2014, The Brick made a
donation to Wounded Warriors of $5
per piece and up to $25 if three
pieces were purchased together.
"We believe that the Proudly Canadian Event is
gaining traction with our customers", said Jim Caldwell, President of The Brick.
"Canadians continue to show their support for our military members
and their families, it's wonderful to see!" Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded
Warriors Canada, commented, "We are thrilled to be partnered with
The Brick and the Proudly Canadian Event. The fact that this
campaign is gaining traction is further proof of the care and
compassion Canadians have for our Canadian Armed Forces members and
their families. These contributions help make possible our
ground-breaking programs focused on mental health and
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder."
