Airbus SE said Monday that it has extended a logistics-support
contract with the U.S. army for up to five years with a potential
value of more than $1.5 billion.
The European plane maker said it would provide spare parts,
material and engineering support for the army's Lakota fleet of 482
utility and training helicopters at 67 sites.
The agreement, managed by Airbus's Arlington, Va.-based U.S.
Space & Defense subsidiary, has an initial term of six months
and can be extended for another 4.5 years, the company said.
The contract is the largest helicopter performance-based support
contract managed by Airbus world-wide, it said.
