Russia may review legislation restricting foreign access to its natural resources, as economic conditions have changed since the current laws were approved, the Interfax news agency reported Friday citing Natural Resources and Ecology Minister Yury Trutnev.

"I think that today there is reason to think more about the investment appeal of Russian subsurface resources for foreigners," Trutnev said at a press conference in Moscow.

He stressed the current legislation regulating foreign companies' participation in geological exploration and use of Russia's mineral resources was approved under different economic conditions.

"There are doubts that this legislation is acceptable now," Trutnev said.
