Skipton Building society has appointed John Spence OBE, DL as a non-executive 
director with effect from 1 June 2009.  Until 2005 Mr Spence occupied a series 
of Executive Roles for Lloyds TSB.  He is a Board member and Audit Chairman at 
Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, Non-Executive Director of Capital For 
Enterprise Limited and a Governor of the Church Commissioners.  Other voluntary 
roles include Chairmanship of Action for Blind People and Deputy Chairmanship of 
Business in the Community. 
 
 
Commenting, Skipton Chairman John Rawlings said "I am delighted to be able to 
welcome John, with his undoubted wealth of experience gained in financial 
services, and look forward to benefiting from his valuable contribution to the 
Board of the Society". 
 
 
The appointment is subject to FSA approval.
