LONDON-- London-listed media sector acquisition vehicle Gloo Networks PLC (GLOO.LN) Tuesday said it has appointed Arnaud de Puyfontaine, chief executive of French media group Vivendi SA (VIV.FR), as its non-executive chairman.

"Arnaud's vision and strategic thinking will be of enormous benefit to Gloo as we execute our strategy" said Gloo's Chief Executive Rebecca Miskin, a former executive at Hearst Magazines U.K.

Gloo said Tuesday that it expects to benefit from Mr De Puyfontaine's experience in digital media.

Gloo floated on the London Stock Exchange in July and is planning to make media sector acquisitions valued at between 250 million pounds ($379.2 million) and GBP1 billion.

Its chief product and operations officer is Juan Lopez-Valcarcel, who previously served as chief digital officer at Pearson PLC (PSON.LN), the former publisher of the Financial Times newspaper.

Gloo said at the time of its floatation that it is targeting investment opportunities created by "the convergence of the internet and media sectors."
