KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)
GEM DIAMONDS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD TAKEOVER OFFER (the Offer)

Gem Diamonds Australia Pty Ltd (Gem Diamonds) has today lodged a notice of
variation to the Offer.

The Offer close date has been extended to 16 November 2007. The date for giving
notice of the status of conditions has been extended to 8 November 2007.

Gem Diamonds has today despatched a letter to Kimberley shareholders advising
them of the variation to the Offer.
