Aer Lingus Group PLC (EIL1.DB) said Monday that it has appointed
Andrew Macfarlane, who has been the Irish budget airline's interim
chief financial officer since December 2009, as its CFO, effective
immediately.
Before joining Aer Lingus, Macfarlane was CFO at U.K. pest
control and cleaning group Rentokil Initial PLC (RTO.LN). He has
also been CFO at Land Securities Group PLC (LAND.LN), the U.K's
largest real-estate investment trust, and Intercontinental Hotels
Group PLC's (IHG) Holiday Inn.
Since joining as the company's interim CFO, Macfarlane has been
"instrumental in addressing the key challenges faced by Aer
Lingus," Chief Executive Christoph Mueller said in a statement.
Chairman Colm Barrington said Macfarlane, 53, has "already made
valuable contributions to Aer Lingus at board level in his capacity
as interim CFO and we look forward to his continued and future
input towards building the future success of Aer Lingus."
