Welcome the King and Queen of Belco Bowl Jam! Monster Energy

on taking first place in the Belco Bowl Jam skateboarding
competition. In the annual bowl skating event outside Canberra, Australia, the 25-year-old from
Malibu, California, claimed the
victory for the second consecutive year. Schaar also took first
place in Friday's Crusher Ramp Jam mini ramp competition.
In the Women's division of the Belco Bowl Jam, 14-year-old
Monster Army rider Arisa Trew from
Palm Beach, Australia, also earned a repeat victory after
winning the contest in 2024. Sunday's Men's Skateboard Vert
competition saw 29-year-old Moto Shibata from Osaka, Japan, take first place.
From February 14-16, the 2025
Belco Bowl Jam attracted the world elite of bowl skateboarding to
the legendary bowl in Canberra.
Established in 2001, the annual event is respected as Australia's longest-running vertical
skateboarding competition and community festival.
Supported by Monster Energy, this year's event featured skate
competitions, side missions at local spots for cash-for-tricks,
concerts and DJ sets, after party, as well as the world premiere of
Monster Energy's latest skate video, "Down Straight Up Vol. 3."
As the defending champion from Belco Bowl Jam 2024, Schaar
dropped into Saturday's Men's Skateboard Bowl final as the rider to
watch. In the heated session, Schaar worked the bowl with versatile
tricks, including huge backside melon 540 over the channel,
alley-oop backside lipslide revert the channel, frontside blunt,
frontside noseblunt, kickflip fakie, Caballerial backside disaster
revert, switch kickflip, and backside tailgrab 540 the channel for
the win. Schaar received the honorary pirate's hat and title of
King of Belco in front of a roaring crowd.
"Thank you, Canberra, this is
the best freaking event! Love you guys!" said Monster Energy's
Schaar upon winning the 2025 Belco Bowl Jam.
On Friday, Schaar shut down the Crusher Ramp Jam mini ramp
competition. Putting down tricks like frontside blunt off the
makeshift vertical extension earned Schaar the best trick award,
which was worth $250.
Also claiming a repeat victory at the Belco Bowl Jam, Monster
Army rider Trew put on a showcase of next-level technical bowl
skating in the Women's Skateboard Bowl final on Saturday.
Dropping highlights including frontside 50-50 pop over the
channel, McTwist over the channel, backside lipslide, backside
method air, backside melon McTwist, kickflip Indy to fakie, and her
signature switch Mc Twist, earned Trew the title Queen of Belco for
the second consecutive year.
When the action moved into the Men's Skateboard Vert final Moto
Shibata soared above the competition to claim first place. Stylish
and technical tricks including huge crossbone airs, front foot
impossible lien air, alley-oop McTwist, frontside 540 lien air,
kickflip McTwist, Indy nosebone to fakie, backside sugarcane grind,
and his signature Kamikaze Air (frontside Caballerial front foot
